Do I have to pay to volunteer?
Starting from 2022, milONGa will ask each volunteer for a participation fee to help other young people gain their experience. The participation fee is unique and includes: personalized accompaniment path in each of the phases of volunteering, training before and during the experience and access to all training material, access to the milONGa virtual platform and support once the experience is over. Please note that the costs of visa, medical insurance, transportation (airline tickets, transfers in the country), tourism, language courses and other costs will be at your expense.
What is the minimum time to volunteer?
It depends on the needs of each social organization, but in general the volunteer is advised to carry out experiences of at least 1 month.
What requirements do I need to meet to volunteer internationally?
Be between 18 and 35 years old, be able to communicate in the language of the country you want to travel to, acquire medical insurance with coverage for as long as you volunteer and, if necessary, comply with requirements and procedures legal requirements that the country requires (passport, visa, vaccines, etc.)
Do I have to be a professional?
No. The most important thing is to have the desire to put yourself at the service, give yourself and make your time, skills and talents available.
Do I have to have my own accommodation?
An important part of the milONGa experience is the relationship that the volunteers create with the people of the host community, for this we try, together with social organizations, to provide a place of accommodation both in the organization itself and with someone from the host community community, community. Please note that, depending on the situation of the social organization, you may be required to make a financial contribution to cover the costs of accommodation and lodging.
Can I take a course in the language of the country I want to travel to?
Yes, as long as they do not intervene with the schedules and tasks of your volunteer. The costs of the course are at your expense.
Is there an economic remuneration?
Volunteering by definition is an unpaid activity. One of the pillars of the milONGa is gratuity, understood as a relationship of mutual donation where everyone has something to give and something to receive. Are there any volunteer options for minors?
